I will admit that when I first read this I thought it was cute. For girls.
Then it dawned on me that it is a powerful realization to come to as a woman. No woman deserves to cry because of someone else. And while we might all know it, it is a completely different thing to take it as your own stance.
Raising my daughter has caused me to analyze every way I handle and present myself, as I know she looks up to me. And for better or worse, she is going to model some of my behaviors. It is up to me to do everything I can to ensure she knows she deserves to be treated with respect, love, equality, and probably a million more things I can't think of right now.
Yeah, no pressure :)
